There is no one-size-fits-all approach to presentations; therefore, it’s only natural to diversify how you deliver presentations to your audience.

Diversifying presentation content is not a new concept. While there is no right or wrong here, experimenting with different kinds of information delivery methods can spice things up.

Presentations are contextual. Pick the right content that goes your topic, audience and role. Spend sometime on visualizing your content whenever possible. Whether it’s through text, images, videos, infographics or even data visuals, it’s becoming more of an expectation nowadays to visualize your content rather than simply using bullet points. Always use high-quality images and well-explained and labeled data visuals (read more about data visuals). Keep it short and concise. Brevity is key to getting your point across.

Finally, this is something that we’ve learned over the years and we can’t get enough of. Nothing generates more discussion and interest than asking the right questions during your presentation. It makes your audience more receptive to the content as they feel they’re part of it. Work smarter by bringing more discussion before, during and after the presentation.

Always remember, don’t prepare content as though you, yourself, were the audience. Put yourself in their shoes every once in a while and create content that is role-based and audience oriented. Focus on what matters to them, not what matters to you. Don’t overdo it and know when to stop adding more.
